Aha, finally! This is an especial blog we wanted to make for a long time. In every blog we read we sure find that everyone recommends using EPA approved disinfectants. Yes, it’s true, they are important in our current context. But nobody truly does their research and know which product really is in the list of approved disinfectants or a Cleaning Service.

So, let’s say we are going to hire a fantastic team like GUTRIV for a deep cleaning and a disinfecting and sanitizing service, that’s great, but have you asked which disinfectant are we going to use?

Is it safe to your home and family? In every case, GUTRIV always uses EPA approved disinfectants, but nobody asks which ones are.

What about you normal cleaning personal service? Do we know what are they using? It’s a common brand and do we know if it is in the EPA approved list?

In this blog, we are going to show you how to look and know if your disinfectant it’s really a disinfectant. You’re welcome!

To kill SARS-CoV-2, the corona virus that produces COVID-19 we need to seek in our desired disinfectant brand, the primary registration number on the list we are provide in this blog.

First, look in the label of your disinfectant the words: EPA Reg. No. Followed by 2 or 3 sets of numbers. Example: Set of 2 (1234-12), set of 3 (1234-12-123).

Some products have 2 or 3 sets of numbers, if in your hands have a product with 2 sets of numbers, it means this is the registration number.  Just search for this number on the EPA List of disinfectants for COVID-19.

Example: In this set of 2 pick all the numbers. (1234-12)

If the product has 3 sets, this means it’s a supplemental distributor product. Meaning it has the composition of other products in the disinfectant. Pick the first 2 parts of the registration number and search it on the list.

Example: In this set of 3 pick the first two parts of numbers. (1234-12-123).

In this site you can check if your disinfectant is EPA approved: https://cfpub.epa.gov/giwiz/disinfectants/index.cfm

Check your products for cleaning service

We´ve talked about this before. Again, check the label, all the information and registration number it is always on the label.

Read and follow directions of the product

On the label it also says about what’s the recommended usage of the product. Be diligent with it and cautious.

Deep clean the surface

Prepare the area for the disinfection procedure. Clean all the surfaces of the intended area with diligence and remove all dust and dirt.

Clean it with time

All these products have a set amount of time to wait till they start working. The disinfection it´s not instant, be careful about it. And take your time cleaning each surface.

Wear proper Equipment

Remember the PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). Gloves and small masks to reduce any allergic reaction.

Secure your products for a good cleaning service

Keep every product away from your family. Children or pets are really curious and can make a fatal mistake if we don’t take any measures to protect them from these products.

All of this information it´s in the EPA official page. Be sure to check it for any updates. Also, be sure to talk to your cleaning service about this information. Knowledge it´s power, be smart and analyze every bit of information.
